Spinach Mushroom Pizza Ring

If you enjoy pizza and want a healthy twist to it, then consider the Spinach Mushroom Pizza Ring! The pizza ring will be sure to impress your friends as it just looks so unique.

The taste is amazing as well and will impress even your non-veggie loving friends. Just make sure you season your filling well!


Take note that even though I only did half the ingredients listed for the dough and it could still make 3 - 4 batches of pizza bases, depending on how you rolled it.



Ingredients:

Dough: (yield - 7-8 10" pizza base worth)

454g - Lukewarm water

12g - Sugar

18g - Salt

9g - Instant yeast/active dry yeast

660g - 720g - Unbleached All-purpose flour

Filling: (yield - enough for a 12" pizza)

1 medium, diced - Onion

2 cloves - Garlic

150g, sliced - Mushroom

1 tbsp - Soy sauce

100g - Pizza cheese (or any of choice)

150g - Spinach

Instructions:


Dough

Step 1:

Dissolve sugar, salt, and yeast into the lukewarm water


Step 2:

Add flour to the mixture and mix till mostly combined


Step 3:

Knead the dough with clean hands till smooth and elastic (7 - 10 minutes)


Step 4:

Place dough in a light greased bowl, cover it with greased cling wrap and let it rise for 1 - 2 hours.

Filling

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 220 degrees Celcius


Step 2:

Saute the onion, garlic, and mushroom with soy sauce. Season well. After about 5 - 6 minutes, add spinach in batches.


Step 3:

Gently deflate the dough then divide it into 4 pieces. Roll onto a flat surface till 10" thick.


Step 4:

Spread the filling onto the sides of the dough and sprinkle cheese on top


Step 5:

From the middle of the dough, pull the triangle slits of dough over your toppings and push down onto the edge of the base


Step 6:

Brush the pizza ring with egg wash


Step 7:

Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown


Step 8:

Serve and enjoy!



Closing:


If you have any filling leftover, feel free to make a mini pizza by doing the same steps but on a smaller scale!
